JETS JOURNAL - #091
July 22, 2025
Hi All!
Here is your weekly round up of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along to a friend if you think they might enjoy.
Spiralling upwards
In the past, I’ve been prone to overthinking. I’d often find myself spiralling as I obssess over what if, questions and scenarios that only make me feel worse about whatever is happening in my life.
However, over the past year, I can safely say I’ve gotten much better at dealing with this type of thinking and have now literally been flipping the script and consciously turning those what if questions into positive ones.
Here’s a diagram I drew in my private journal to help explain.

I call it, reverse spiralling, where instead of thinking of all the negatives scenarios, you instead actively choose to think about all the positive ones.
I’ve also attached a PDF you can download here and use if you’re interested, as a framework for working through self-limiting beliefs, or just general negativity, and unpleasant attitudes towards life.
It really helped me the other day when I was overthinking.
It’s also very short, and simple, so it won’t take long to quickly scribble your answers on a piece of paper, and begin reprogramming yourself.
The intersection of fine art & music
Edward Skeletrix is an artist I recently discovered that is in my opinion, one of the most creative people in the underground music scene right now.
Check out the video below to see how he put on his own art exhibition, where he was the art piece, to help promote Musuem Music, the album he released at the start of the year.
To me, he feels like one of those generational, artist artists, who doesn’t just release songs, but creates entire experiances beyond just the music itself.
Occam’s razor & organisational tools
Occam’s razor is a problem solving tool that suggests the simplest solution is usually the correct one. The reason why I bring this up, is because I’ve been someone who’s overengineered solutions to most simple problems.
The best example of this is when I used to use tools like Notion and Obsidian to create detailed notetaking systems that I’d often forget about after a couple weeks. Whereas now I literally have one file on my computer called memory.txt that has everything I need to keep on top of.

It’s literally just a plain text file with dot points with everything that I need to either do, or things in my life I’m actively working towards.
This simplicity has really helped, especially as someone who can get distracted very easily, and lose track of what my actual priorities are.
Going to a concert by yourself
Last weekend I got to see Bladee (one of my favourite artists) perform live here in Sydney. And because no one I knew was going, I just went by myself.
This wasn’t the first time I’ve went to a concert alone, but it did remind me how fun it is.
And although, I love doing things with my friends, I’m someone who really enjoys being by themselves, even in a room full of strangers. It’s why I always go to the movies alone.
There’s no one there to bother you, you can stay for as long as you want, or just get up and leave.
Would recomend you try doing something by yourself like grabbing dinner, watching a movie, or just taking some time alone.
However, be warned, it can actually be a little too good at times, and you end up like me where you enjoy your own company more than others, which can quickly spill over into slacking off with putting effort into the relationships you care about.
Infinite leverage
It’s 2025, and anyone on the planet has access to infinite leverage.
The best examples of infinite leverage is either media (books, shorts, youtube videos, podcasts etc,) or code (apps, websites, tools, etc.)
This is because both of these assets, once created, can be distributed to millions with very little friction.
This is very different to using either money, or your time and labour as your leverage, as both are limited.
Check out the one minute video below for a more detailed explanation on the three forms of leverage.
However, the deciding factor between people who either capitlisise on our access to infinite leverage and those who don’t, is that you need the courage to make the thing, share it with the world, and risk ridicule. Along with the clarity, to see the vision, and remain unshakeable througout the process of birthing your ideas.
Hope everyone enjoys their week.
Love,
Jet Williams
