JETS JOURNAL - #100
September 23, 2025
Hi All!
Here is your weekly round up of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along to a friend if you think they might enjoy.
100
This is my hundreth newsletter I’ve sent.
I can’t believe I’ve been doing this consistently for almost two years straight.
When I sent out the first edition, I had zero intentions of this becoming such an integral part of my life. It’s become such a easy, and fun way to keep a public record of my everchanging interests, passions, and experiances.
So, if you’re reading this.
Thank you.
Your support has motivated me to continue writing.
The Book Release

Woke up one day last year and was finally ready to tell the story I’ve always wanted to exist.
That morning I typed a couple sentences into the notes app of my phone, and began working.
Fast forward to now and those first sentences have grown into an entire novel, that’s been through multiple rounds of revisions, cover art designs, and countless rejections from publishers.
All to get to here. A couple months out from publishing my first book.
A story that’s not only a love letter to Sydney, but a lifeline to the kid who felt misunderstood, and overlooked.
This is for you.

Klara and the Sun

I just finished reading what I’m calling my new favourite book.
Klara and the Sun is timely story written from the perspective of an AF Robot (Artificial Friend) that’s adopted into a family home.
I’m not going to spoil the story for you, but I will say that the book genuinely makes you ask what does it mean to be human?
Such a great book that will be considered a classic in the near future.
China recap
I’m back home in Sydney and I already miss China.
That place was a first world country with third world prices.
I can’t speak highly enough about how clean and efficient their cities are.
I genuinely can’t wait for the next time I visit.
Maybe when I’m back I’ll try to see more of China’s gorgoues nature.
Same city, new eyes
I made a friend from France on the bus coming back from the Great Wall. Turns out they were only in China for a layover, and were actually moving to Sydney.
Yesterday, we hung out, and it was so refreshing seeing your home through the eyes of an outsider.
To put it in their words, this place is like Zootopia, while for me it’s normal.
Which is why I constantly have to pinch myself everytime I fall asleep and forget how beautiful what’s sitting right in front of me, really is.
When you read my book, you’ll see this theme of being a tourist in your own city pop up quite abit, but I’m not going to say anything else other than that from now.
Hope everyone enjoys their week.
Love,
Jet Williams
