JETS JOURNAL - #101

September 30, 2025

Hi All!

Here is your weekly round up of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along to a friend if you think they might enjoy.

Not much to share

This weeks newsletter might be a bit shorter than previous ones. I don’t feel like I have much to say right now. I’m back in Sydney, working, training, finishing up final edits on the book, and slowly putting together its rollout behind the scenes.

I’m also very thankful for everyone who reached out after the official announcement of Off the Rails. I’m feeling very grateful for all the excitement and can’t wait for you to finally read the book.

Creating files that last

Here’s a quote from Steph Ango, the current CEO of Obsidian, a great notetaking software.

“If you want your writing to still be readable on a computer from the 2060s or 2160s, it’s important that your notes can be read on a computer from the 1960s.”

I love quote above because I don’t want the digital artefacts I create to become obsolete decades from now. Hence why I write everything using the primitive .txt or .md file format that will forever be readable on computers, instead of Microsoft Words .docx file for example, that’s usually only compatible with their software, and uneditable if your not paying their monthly subscription.

If your interested in digital longevity I’d recomend you check out the full blog post called File over app, for a much better explanation.

Also, if you haven’t already, I’d highly recommend you look into Obsidian if your looking for a free and simple notetaking software.

Feel don’t think

Lately I’ve been making it a priority to feel instead of think.

And by this I don’t mean not thinking at all, I mean quieting my mind, and learning to listen to my gut, my instinct, my intuition—you know, the thing that you can feel deep down, guiding you on what the right decision is.

This is because I’m realising how intuition operates on a significantly deeper level versus the surface level mind that’s prone to playing tricks on you.

I genuinely think, we’re all much more intelligent than we realise, but we often doubt ourselves and our guiding intuitive voice that understands far more than our minds ever could.

It’s also why I’m weary of taking advice from others who don’t have all the context. Because usually people operate from their own POV and give advice biased to their own situation, which is most likely very different from your own.

And when I say this, I don’t mean, ignore everyone, I mean take things as they are, and listen to your own voice and how you feel.

This is why whenever I share anything in my newsletter I try to preface that this is my POV, and it might not apply, or even resonate with you, and that’s ok.

I just want to create a dialogue, and maybe make you feel something different. So if anything I say ever resonates on that deeper level, feel free to take it, if not, drop it, and move on.

Songs on repeat

I don’t often share music in my newsletter but every now and again I like letting you in on some of the tracks I’ve had on repeat.

So here’s what I’ve been listening to lately, and some random lyrics from each track.

Snow Strippers - In My Head: “It’s a feeling in my head, it’s a story in my head.”

9090gate - Heartbroken: “If your hearts broken, man don’t cry, you can kill it if you want, I been killing it the whole time.”

Grimes - Pin: “Lighter and a safety pin, light the end, burn the skin, I’ll stick to you forever.”

fakemink - High Like Me: “Feel like I’m pulling out my teeth with pliers.”

smokedope2016 - Khalifa: “Wish I could go back to those days playin’ COD and just hoopin’.”

Bodyjar - Not the Same: “You’re not the same, you’ve changed, I don’t need you anyway, you’re not the person I believed in yesterday.”

Hope everyone enjoys their week.

Love,

Jet Williams
